BIO 430 Principles of Evolution

Introduction to evolutionary principles, their applications, and the appropriate literature. Major topics include the history of evolutionary concepts, the species and speciation processes, phylogenetic patterns and their reconstruction, classification, biogeography, extinction, and biological nomenclature. Three hours lecture/week. Prerequisites: BIO 161, BIO 162, and BIO 260. (Offered spring semester).
