CRJ 461 Social Construction of Homicide

Explores the nature of homicide in contemporary society and includes social theories of homicide, domestic murder, serial murder, infanticide, hate crimes, and youth gangs. Examination of the impact of drugs and alcohol and an assessment of capital punishment as a deterrent is included. Prerequisites: CRJ 100 and completion of 200-level criminal justice courses.
