MAT 175 Precalculus

Designed to prepare students for MAT 211. Provides intense study of the topics which are fundamental to the study of calculus. Emphasis placed on functions and their graphs with special attention to polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions, and analytic trigonometry. Upon completion, students should be able to solve practical problems and use appropriate models for analysis and prediction. Prerequisite: MAT 140A, MAT 140B, math placement 5 or permission of the mathematics department chair. Not open to students who have successfully (C or better) completed MAT 211.
